The new 2023 Honda Accord Touring gets Google built-in apps, plus a 12 3-inch touchscreen
Transcript- This is the interior of the new 11th generation Honda Accord, and specifically the Touring trim. And because of that, it has something new to the Honda lineup. For the first time, Honda has Google built in. Now, what does that mean? Well, it has Google Assistant, and then it also has full access to the Google App Store. There are a variety of apps designed specifically to work with the car now.
But I think most people will be happy about this-- Google Maps integrated into the car itself. You do not need to plug in your phone into Apple CarPlay or into Android Auto in order to make it work. Now, there is some limitation to this versus an in-car navigation system in terms of search and plugging in an address if you do not have cell service. But for most folks, you're going to get the interface that you all know, love, and use quite frequently.
Now, not just special to the Touring, but actually standard on every 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid is this new 12.3-inch touchscreen. This is larger and different than the 9-inch upgrades found in most other Hondas. In addition to being wider, that aspect ratio does allow you to split the screen to be able to show radio information and the map. Or if you do have Apple CarPlay running, it doesn't take over the whole screen, which is really nice.
Not only does that stay up, but you also do have your menu buttons permanently docked on the left. That's a really great usability feature. And Honda, I think, learned its lesson and made sure that there's a physical volume knob still present.
