Overview
The Toyota Supra returns for it's 5th generation heralding the return of their front-engine rear-wheel drive halo sports car. New for 2021 the Supra comes with just two powertrain options, a 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine fed by a turbocharger and mated to the rear axle via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Toyota claims that this engine, sourced from BMW, makes 382 horsepower and 366 lb-ft of torque. While the horsepower number sounds relatively tame, the light weight of the car combined with the big torque numbers mean that the Supra is exceptionally quick, with 0-60 times in the four to five second range. The second powertrain is a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. There are four different trim levels 2.0, 3.0, 3.0 Premium and A91 Edition. Standard features include 18-inch wheels, an active rear differential, sport suspension, paddle shifters for the steering wheel, dual rear exhaust pipes, LED turn signals, Alcantara and leather trimmed seats, a 8.8-inch display, a 8-way adjustable driver's seat, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, an automatically dimming driver's side mirror, rain sensing wipers and dual-zone climate control, among others. As the Toyota Supra rolls into its second year it remains much the same, however several improvements have been made to the engine configurations increasing the horsepower and adding tweaks to the steering and suspension.
