Overview

The Kia Optima is a five-seat, front-wheel-drive midsize sedan, placing it squarely in one of the most competitive car classes. The Optima offers the choice of five different trims. The LX and S offer a 185-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a Sportmatic six-speed automatic transmission. The EX Turbo and EX comes with a 178-hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and the SX turbo comes with a 245-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with a Sportmatic six-speed automatic transmission. Standard safety features include electronic stability control, traction control, 4-wheel disc ABS brakes, rear camera, Lane Keep Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning, Parking Distance Warning-Reverse and 7 airbags. Available features include Panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, Forward Collision-Avoidance-Assist, Pedestrian Detection, heated and ventilated front seats and Nappa leather seating surfaces. For 2020, the Optima EX Premium is now a separate trim rather than an option package.
