Overview

The MINI Hardtop provides the driving enthusiast with a unique combination of fun-to-drive performance, engineering and unconventional attitude. The Hardtop is available in two different trims: the Cooper with a direct-injection turbocharged 134-hp 1.5-liter inline three-cylinder engine and the Cooper S with a direct-injection, 189-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, or the John Cooper Works with a 228-hp version of the Cooper S turbo engine. All engines are mated to either a six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic transmission and are equipped with auto stop-start to maximize fuel savings. Standard safety equipment includes eight airbags, run-flat tires, electronic traction and stability control and anti-lock brakes. A wide variety of interior trim materials and colors are available, as well as features such as adaptive LED headlights, LED foglights, panoramic sunroof, sport suspension, Dynamic Damper Control, navigation system, rear-view camera, head-up display, harman/kardon audio, parking sensors, and satellite radio. For 2015, automatic headlights, rain sensing wipers and automatic climate control are all standard equipment. Also as late additions to the line-up, the 4-door version of the Hardtop arrives, bringing some extra length and seating capacity for those needing more space, and the high-performance John Cooper Works model returns with 228-horsepower from the same 2.0-liter as the S.
