Overview
Following the 2010 introduction of the all-new, all-wheel drive Saab 9-5 Aero sedan, for 2011 Saab has added a front-wheel drive model with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The 9-5 has a dynamic stance and aggressive proportions that reflect Saab heritage. The 9-5 Aero sedan seats five passengers and is available in four trims. The all-wheel drive Aero and new Turbo6 are powered by a 300-hp turbocharged and intercooled 2.8-liter six-cylinder engine matched with a six-speed automatic transmission with manual Sentronic gear selection and an advanced all-wheel drive (XWD) system. The Aero includes steering wheel paddle shifters and an electronic limited slip rear differential. The front-wheel drive Turbo4 and Turbo4 Premium are powered by a 220-hp turbocharged and intercooled four-cylinder engine with spark ignition direct injection and matched with either a six-speed manual or six-speed Sentronic automatic transmission. Standard features include a new front and rear suspension design, and leather seat trim. Safety features include eight airbags, 4-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic stability program, anti-whiplash Active Head Restraints, and front and rear park assist. Available features include Bi-Xenon headlamps with SmartBeam, rear entertainment package, and a hard-drive based navigation system. For 2011, the Saab 9-5 sedan adds new trims and front-wheel drive.
