Overview

The Chevrolet Silverado still stands tall among a superb new crop of full-size pickups. Roomy cabins, comfortable seats, a comfortable ride, and powerful engines make the Silverado a great work truck. Like all full-size pickups, the Silverado is available in a vast array of configurations: two-wheel drive and four-wheel-drive; crew cab; short beds (6-1/2-foot) and long beds (8-foot). The 1500HD is powered by a 300 hp 6.0-liter V-8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. There are two trim levels: LS and LT. It is available in either rear- or four-wheel drive. For increased towing capacity, a VortecMAX Performance Package is available with a 345 hp V-8 engine. Depending on seat selection, it can seat up to six occupants. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD is a carryover from 2005.
