Here’s a quick walkaround tour of the 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S 580. We take you for a trip around the exterior to show you all the differences between the regular S-Class and the Maybach version of it. Then, we step inside to go through all of the unique Maybach touches on this $227,900 mega-luxury car. The Maybach is much larger than a regular S-Class, and while it shares the same powertrain, the end result is a sedan with a unique character. Whether you’re driving it or being driven around in the back, there isn’t a bad seat to be in.

- Let's take a quick walk around of this 2022 Mercedes Maybach S 580. I'll point out what's different about the Maybach versus a normal S-class. For one, up here, you'll see a different hood, this nice little silver strip going down the center. Right here, a radiator grille is different from the S 580 grill. And the Maybach logo front and center.

You also get a different lower fascia, different lower bumper. As we move along the side here, you'll see 20 inch forged wheels, which look fantastic. Of course, they say Maybach on them, as they should. As we move all the way out here, look at the side. You'll notice the 7 inch longer wheelbase on the Maybach versus the normal S-class. All of that space goes towards the rear seat occupants for extra leg room and space.

The rear most pillar here is more upright than on a normal S-class. And it also features the Maybach logo. And this lights up at night, looks spectacular. And then in the back, of course, your classic Maybach logo right there, and a separate rear bumper and lower exhaust outlet for the Maybach. You can quickly admire this two tone paint that takes a week to complete. It's actually by hand. Everything up here, the black portion of it.

But as we finish admiring that, let's hop inside and check out what's different on the Maybach. So instantly, you're hit with the Maybach sill. You get special Maybach logo on the headrest up here, the Maybach steering wheel, and Maybach pedals, as one would expect. The Maybach has its own gauge set separate from the other S classes. However, it does have the same 12.8 inch touch screen here and just a couple more features in there. And you have a special Maybach drive mode that is supposedly smoother for chauffeurs with the engine. Starts in second gear every time.

The seats themselves, quilted. Very beautiful. And then you can also see it's not quite nighttime, but the ambient lighting in here is something special. Nobody does ambient lighting quite like Mercedes. So it's even in the speakers here. Those pop out too when you turn the music on.
