Seemingly taking the place of the Top Gear tame racing driver known as The Stig, not everyone was a fan of the stereotypically American racing driver character on The Grand Tour. As it turns out, neither was the driver wearing The American's racing overalls, as Mike Skinner announced on Twitter that he will not be returning to the show for its second season. Not all of The Grand Tour's writing has really been up to scratch, and it appears that has been the reason behind Skinner's decision as well.

FYI I won't be joining the guys on @thegrandtour 2nd season - I wish them all the luck. My character wasn't developed as I was told.

Skinner says he did enjoy driving the cars, and his handiwork behind the wheel was one of the better things about that segment. The question remains open: how will TGT replace Skinner in the second season? Perhaps they have cooked up another nationality character to serve as the driver, and have bought spare, localized overalls for any upcoming seasons.and I agree with many of you that it sucked - if you're gonna wear Evil Knievel's firesuit, you need to be Evil Flipping Knievel! Peace out
