We've written earlier about the Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R track car and just how impressive it is. What hasn't been reported yet is whether one can buy it — and it turns out that yes, that will be possible during 2018. The GT4.R is first and foremost a track weapon, and it is aimed at privateers eager to replicate the success it's had in racing series such as the Pirelli World Challenge. The racer debuted six months ago at a Pirelli event in St. Petersburg, Fla., and it's been campaigned by two race teams so far.

A tentative buyer must set aside $259,000 and leave something for taxes, but for that you get a race-ready GT4.R built by Pratt & Miller, complete with the race-tune 6.2-liter LT1 engine good for 480 horsepower, that is paired to a six-speed Xtrac sequential paddle-shift transmission and adjustable traction control, to best suit the driver's needs. The GT4.R weighs just 3,131 lbs, and its suspension is courtesy of Öhlins. Brembo Motorsport brakes make sure it stops on its 305/660-18 tires fitted on Forgeline wheels.

Pratt & Miller has set up a separate website for the car at CamaroGT4R.com, where more material about the race Camaro is available.
