We had a lot of fun during our track day at the M1 Concourse. We drove a few different cars, but none turned as many heads as the McLaren 570S. Join Senior Editor Greg Migliore as he zips around the track and captures the experience in full 360° video.

GREG MIGLIORE: McLaren makes race cars and super cars. I'm Greg Migliore for Autoblog. And today, I'm going to tell you something else they make, sports cars. They're branching out into a new kind of business. They want to make their cars a little bit more affordable and attainable for perhaps your everyday enthusiasts.

Now this is McLaren, it's all relative. This is their idea of a sports car. The mid-engine 204 mile an hour 570S. I don't care what they call this, I want to take it on the track.

All right, so welcome to the track here at the M1 concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, just north of Detroit. The 570S is a great weapon here to have on this track. It's a lot of fun. I've got 562 horsepower from a twin turbo V8 at my disposal.

Listen to those eight cylinders sing. Man, is this a fun car to drive. I've also got carbon ceramic brakes, which I need. I'm coming through some of these corners pretty hot. And you want to do that so you can build momentum for this straightaway.

This car has a top speed of 204 miles an hour. Let's see if we can get close to it. 562 horsepower, 443 pound feet of torque. You can do 60 in 3.1 seconds and the top speed is 204 miles an hour. That's a lot of statistics, but this car is quick.

Not a lot of runoff space here, so I'm glad I have, you know, a car this precise like the McLaren 570S. Another lap around the straightaway here. I've heard the record is 143 set by Andy Pilgrim.

We're not going to do that, but we just hit 130. That's not bad. Got to really get on those brakes there. And here we go around again.

The thing about the McLaren 570S is this is supposed to be a little more of an accessible car for the gentleman enthusiast. Maybe you want to buy this car and, you know, it's a little bit more of an easier drive, or daily driver than the 650S or the 675 long tail, which you might remember we drove out at Willow Springs in another great AutoblogVR shoot. If you ask me, this is still plenty of car.

Yeah, you can drive it every day if you want, but to me it's still a challenge. You're sitting very low to the ground. You've got the carbon fiber MonoCell II chassis. That's a development that they've really been working on for a while.

McLaren has been a pioneer in carbon fiber. They know what they're doing and that's reflected in cars like this. Breaks over there, we're going to jog to the outside, cut down the middle, back to the inside, outside.

Here we go. Load it up. Listen to those eight cylinders.

So this car really is at home on the track. McLaren designed it to be a little bit more drivable, a little more attainable, a little more usable for some of its enthusiast drivers. But let me tell you, this thing's still a thoroughbred. It's still a lot of fun.

So there you have it. That's a couple of hot laps, some really fun hot laps, around the M1 Concourse here in Michigan in the McLaren 570S; Woo.
