Mike and David put the Fiat 500x in track mode at GingerMan Raceway.
Transcript
DAVID GLUCKMAN: All right, Mike. We're in our long term Fiat 500X.
MICHAEL AUSTIN: I know that.
DAVID GLUCKMAN: Just letting you know.
MICHAEL AUSTIN: OK. It says 500 here.
DAVID GLUCKMAN: Says it there. Well, we brought it to the racetrack as a support vehicle, but we noticed that it has a little checkered flag mode.
MICHAEL AUSTIN: Yes
DAVID GLUCKMAN: So I'm going to turn that on now. We're going to see how quickly this thing goes around GingerMan Raceway.
MICHAEL AUSTIN: All right.
DAVID GLUCKMAN: Are you ready?
MICHAEL AUSTIN: Let's do it.
DAVID GLUCKMAN: All right, let's go. Oh, it tells me how much power.
MICHAEL AUSTIN: 100%?
DAVID GLUCKMAN: Not even 100%. It's never hit 100. And then, oh--
MICHAEL AUSTIN: You got to shift.
DAVID GLUCKMAN: And then you got to slow down, and turn.
MICHAEL AUSTIN: You didn't slow down that much. Watch out, the stability's off. It's just going to plow more. This is actually kind of fun.
DAVID GLUCKMAN: It's not bad.
MICHAEL AUSTIN: I like the way it's leaning.
DAVID GLUCKMAN: It expected very bad.
MICHAEL AUSTIN: Don't forget to shift. Now go back. Oh my god, hit the brakes. What's the Nurburgring time for this car?
DAVID GLUCKMAN: I think it's about a week.
MICHAEL AUSTIN: Oh, I was going to say like 12 minutes.
DAVID GLUCKMAN: OK, good.
MICHAEL AUSTIN: Turn right.
DAVID GLUCKMAN: Oh, it's-- yeah, I always forget which way to go on this track. And final turn. [INAUDIBLE] And--
MICHAEL AUSTIN: And--
DAVID GLUCKMAN: And-- I crossed the line. That was a record for the Fiat 500X at GingerMan Raceway, because I'm pretty sure that nobody has before, or ever will, drive a car like this on the track.
MICHAEL AUSTIN: I was, uh, from the passenger seat, it was a lot more fun than I thought it would be.
DAVID GLUCKMAN: Well, that doesn't smell good. Breaks are on fire. Maybe should have done a cool down.
