Fly with Continental and, for an additional fee, offset your carbon.

Sustainable Travel International and Continental Airlines yesterday announced plans to offer customers the option to participate in a carbon offsetting program. This program will allow travelers to calculate the carbon footprint of their booked itinerary and purchase carbon offsets online from Sustainable Travel International

This option will be available at Continental's website starting late summer 2007. By selecting this option, customers will be able to purchase these carbon offsets and select the program they would like the money to benefit. Available options include sustainable projects like reforestation, renewable enery and energy conservation in different projects around the world.

Continental is Sustainable Travel International's first airline partner. The organization also works with WWF, National Geographic, Whole Foods Market, Ben & Jerry's and the Coca-Cola Company.
