Okay, so it's not actually called the MX-5 in Japan. It's simply known as the Roadster. But regardless, this is one modified Miata we certainly wouldn't mind seeing Stateside.
The MX-5 Mazdaspeed M'z Tune Concept was developed by the engineering geeks at Mazda E&T and in addition to the aero kit, fender and hood vents, the Roadster gets a new muffler and a remapped ECU that increases power output between 7- and 8-percent. On the sticky side of things, the drop top gets 18-inch rollers, Bilstein dampers (probably some revised springs too, but nothing was mentioned) and a set of sport thrones.
Mazda contends that the M'z Tune Concept is just that, a concept, but according to Winding Road, Mazda officials would like to bring such a variant to the U.S. We're alright with that.
