T.Rad increasing production of EGR Coolers

/
Japanese manufacturer of assorted heat exchangers T.Rad has announced plans to ramp up production of EGR coolers. For those who don't recall EGR, it stands for exhaust gas recirculation. Small amounts of exhaust gases are routed back into the intake stream in order to reduce combustion temperatures and, subsequently, reduce NOx emissions. T.Rad will be spending $8.4 million to expand each of their plants in the Czech Republic and Thailand. The company will supply EGR coolers to Toyota's plants in Poland and also other European automakers. T.Rad is projecting sales of $84 million for their EGR coolers in 2008 thanks to increasing demand for cleaner diesels.
