All I want for Christmas is Sheed's Maybach

I only lived in Detroit for two years while working for another auto media outlet, but believe it or not I fell in love with the city (as any proper car fan should). The last year I could call Detroit home was 2003, which was special for Detroit because the Pistons embarassed the LA Lakers in the NBA Playoffs and became champions of the rock that year. Since then the Pistons have become my team, and I root for them at every opportunity, even when playing the King, Lebron James, and my native team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

An Autoblog tipper sent us notice that Rasheed Wallace, the Pistons' forward/center, is selling his 2004 Maybach 57 in DuPont Registry. We contacted our boys at DuPont and got the skinny on the vehicle, which is largely stock except for the giant butt imprint on the seat where a famous baller used to sit. The car is Navy with Cote d'Azur Medium Blue paint and a gray suede interior, and like many other Maybachs will spoil its owner and occupants with ammenities like TVs, satellite radio, a fridge and heated and cooled seats. The buyer will also get a basketball signed by 'Sheed, which is nice and all, but how about season tickets instead? Either way, Wallace's name was enough to have DuPont Registry select the car as a Publisher's Choice for the month, which must mean it's gonna fetch a pretty penny from a well funded fan.
