BTCC: Team RAC races on ethanol

/
Ethanol membership in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) is now up to four. Team RAC recently announced that they'll be running the MG ZS cars of drivers Colin Turkington and Rob Collard on the E85 mixture for the 22 round at Knockhill. Jason Hughes of Kartworld Racing also running an MG ZS made the move to ethanol for on the 16th round.

Part of the significance of Team RAC's move to a friendlier fuel is Colin Turkington's current ranking of 2nd in the championship. Dick Bennetts, Team RAC's principal said, "Our primary objective is to be the first ever touring car team to achieve a podium finish to showcase the potential of green fuel for our primary sponsor, RAC."

Knockhill was last Sunday, so how did Turk and the rest of the biofuelers do?

- Rob Collard: 7th
- Colin Turkington: DNF
- Jason Hughes: DNF
- Fiona Leggate: withdrew from race

Overall, a poor showing, but Turkington did manage the quickest lap during the first free practice session on Saturday and was the fastest biofuel car on the grid qualifying in 6th place, 0.756 seconds slower than Jason Plato's pole position.

On a side note, I noticed Fiona's name under the BTCC columnist section on crash.net, though, there were no articles under her link. At least not yet.
