In 2004, Autoblogger Dave Ko posted about a writer's picture that offered a
bloody
fresh view of street racing. Well, Dave's gone to bigger and better opportunities so we're left to wonder what he would have written about the 'Sideshow'.
'Sideshow' refers to an impromptu gathering of various car enthusiasts in parking lots or intersections. Originating in Oakland, California, the drivers do drifts, figure-eights, donuts, and other illegal automotive stunts to the enthusiastic crowd. The five minute video displays plenty of examples of said stunts while interviewing its participants and the law enforcement trying to control them.
