WRC: Corona Rally Mexico

The WRC is in Mexico this week for a big change from the last event in  snowy Sweden. The high altitude, high-speed gravel stages of Rally Mexico favored Petter Solberg's Subaru Impreza last year (pictured right), and he's hoping that this year's event will help kickstart his 2006 championship bid, which is sputtering after disappointing results in the Monte Carlo and Sweden events. More information at the official rally site here, and at wrc.com

NASCAR: Busch series Telcel-Motorola 200, Mexico City

The Nextel Cup series has the week off as the Busch teams head south of the border for a road course event in Mexico City. The Busch series has been tipped to lead NASCAR's charge to break into North America's Hispanic market and provide its major sponsors with valuable exposure in Mexico. Although it's expensive for the teams to travel to Mexico, the series-record $2.4 million purse should help ease the pain.

Web coverage here, and TV race coverage is live Sunday 2pm ET on FOX.

Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series: Mexico City 250

Grand Am joins NASCAR in Mexico City this weekend, for its second visit to Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Unlike last year, when the Mexico City race closed out the season, the championship chase is wide open for this year's event, and every team will be looking to make the most of their trip down south. The race is Saturday, with the Grand Am website providing live timing and scoring (practice, qualifying and race) and live audio coverage. TV coverage is same day delayed on SPEED Channel Saturday at 8pm ET.
