Autocar is reporting that HFI Automotive, which concluded its purchase of the Healey brand in late January, is now taking deposits for its new sports car, shown at right in an HFI design sketch.

To commemorate Donald Healey's land speed record run of 203 mph at the Bonneville salt flats fifty years ago, HFI is taking deposits of  £1,000 for the first 203 cars to be made.

Autocar reports that both convertible and coupe versions of the new Healey will be offered, with prototypes to be shown later in 2006. Meanwhile, stay tuned to the company's new website.
