Chery's first U.S. offering

/
Autoblog tipster hp sent us a link to this article that provides bits of info about Chery’s first vehicle that meets “U.S. standards”, the A520. The article is in Croation, which unfortunately Google Translate hasn’t gotten around to learning yet, so the details at this point are suspect. For instance, does the vehicle meet safety (i.e. crash) standards or emissions standards? Hp tells us that the A520 is based on an older version of the Seat Toledo (think VW Jetta) and uses a 2.0L engine designed by an Austrian company named AVL. The design is reportedly by Bertone, the firm also responsible for nearly all of Lamborghini’s legendary designs including the Miura, Espada and Countach.
