Edge, MKX to be assembled in Great White North

Oakville, Ontario, Canada, has been chosen by Ford Motor Company to build the new Ford Edge (pictured) and the Lincoln MKX. While Ford and Mercury are no strangers to building vehicles in the land of beer and hockey, the last time Canadians had built a Lincoln of any significant numbers was back in 1936 at the Windsor, Ontario, plant.
The Edge and MKX are new cross over utility vehicles for the second largest domestic automaker. Debuting for the first time at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, information on the vehicles can be found here and here.
