Michelin North America announced Thursday a recall of 6,500 Pilot Sport tires in the U.S. and Canadian markets.
The only Pilot Sport model affected is the 255/35ZR20 97Y Extra Load tires, supplied as original equipment on some Jaguar XJ8s, and also sold into the replacement market. A typical Pilot Sport is shown at right.
Some tires have exhibited sidewall blistering, which can cause vibration and loss of air pressure. No accidents have been reported as a result of the defect.
