Checkmate for MINI

It's being reported by Inside Line that MINI will show its Checkmate package for the MINI Cooper and Cooper S at the LA Auto Show. Reportedly this package debuted in Frankfurt, but honestly we don't remember seeing it. The new option package includes Checkmate side decals (shown) a rear spoiler and stripes. Inside the Checkmate MINI gets patterned cloth or leather sport seats, leather steering wheel and a high gloss dash panel. Actual hardware upgrades include stability control, front foglamps and a performance wheel and tire package.

With only one model in its lineup, MINI continues to find ways to creatively accessorize its vehicle. Each iteration attracts a whole new group of interested parties ready to get down with the MINI brand. Imagine what the company will do when it has two models!
