Ford releases plan for greenhouse-gas reduction

/
In response to a year-old shareholder resolution that was initiated by environmentally-minded consumer groups, Ford Motor Company has released a report on how the company intends to deal with the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
The report does not lay out specific plans or goals, stating that “there continue to be too wide a range of possible futures for technologies, markets, and regulatory frameworks “ for that to happen. Ford also states that the scope of the problem expands far beyond the auto industry, and thus sees further communication with federal government policymakers as being vital towards achieving a meaningful reduction in carbon emissions.

Environmentalists now want to see similar action taken by GM, but that automaker is said to be somewhat more reluctant to issue any commitment to reducing its production of CO2.
