Ford announces details of white collar severance packages

/
As it prepares to lay off 4,000 salaried workers, Ford Motor Company has detailed a severance plan that offers the workers between one and 12 months pay, as well as select health benefits, depending upon how long the individual has worked at the company and whether or not they’re willing to sign a waiver saying that Ford isn’t legally liable for anything in connection with the individual’s lay-off. The deal is similar to General Motors’, although GM plans to offer up to 15 months severance.
Those who have worked at the company three years or less, and those who refuse to sign the waiver receive nothing.
