Suzuki, Mazda and Nissan announce combo recall

359,589 units of the Suzuki Alto, Mazda Carol and Nissan Moco have been recalled due to faulty transmissions. The defect could cause a bearing in one of the gear shafts to break, causing the cars to decelerate suddenly. All three cars are built by Suzuki under a joint venture were sold between November 2000 and June 2002. The 660cc minicars are only available in Japan and no accidents or injuries have yet been associated with the defect.
