Lexus to show IS cabrio/coupe at NAIAS

Sources in Japan say that Lexus will show off a new, very-close-to-production concept vehicle at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this January. The Lexus IS cabrio/coupe, the first of its kind for the IS series, also reportedly has a bored out 5.0-liter V8 with an output of 450 hp from the flagship LS 460 (also scheduled for Detroit) — a big move in the right direction for power-hungry Americans. It's got a retractable hard top, which means that the Lexus IS concept is all the more able to thumb its nose at the upcoming, presumably ragtop, 3-series BMW . The current production IS is pictured.
