Lutz says the Chevy HHR is a hit

Over on GM's Fastlane Blog, Big Bob couldn't be happier with early sales of the Chevy HHR compact cartruckwagon. According to Lutz, the HHR is selling at three times the rate expected by dealers. (Does that mean hot sales, or low expectations?) Even better, many of the customer cars represent auto manufacturer nirvana - "conquest sales" (sales to customers who previously owned a -gasp!- non-GM product).

I guess the market's appetite for retro-designs is still unsatisfied. Or maybe it's the lackluster design of "new" cars… "An American Revolution," indeed.
