Dream Corvettes at 2006 Barrett-Jackson Auction

The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company announced Tuesday that the 35th Anniversary "World's Greatest Collector Car Event" will feature the best collection of Corvettes ever at a major, no-reserve auction, with 100 of the rarest 'Vettes anywhere.

At the top of the list is the world's oldest existing Corvette, the 1953 "#003" convertible.

Another gem is an original 1969 L-88 Coupe. One of only 116, the award-winning, numbers-matching Corvette is said to be one of the best 1969 L-88's in existence.

Finally, a one-owner, numbers-matching, 1963 Z06 Coupe (pictured above). The fuelie is one of only 199 Z06s built.

The 2006 Scottsdale auction is January 14-22, so dust off that checkbook and sign up for that home equity loan. Or, like most of us in North America, watch the action on SPEED Channel. Lots of information, including an updated car list, at the Barrett-Jackson website.
