Lexus introduces first dual-chamber airbag

While airbags are proven life savers, they aren't the most pleasant thing in the world to get hit in the face with in the event of an accident. In its new IS250, Lexus has outfitted the passenger side airbag with a dual-chamber bag, which supports more of the upper body than traditional single chamber bags and cradles the face. This, along with the traditional driver side airbag, first driver and passenger knee airbags in in its segment, Thorax-Abdomen-Pelvis (TAP) side airbags and curtain shield airbags, makes for a total of eight airbags standard on the IS250.
