GM sued by supplier for price relief

As many people know, the huge increase in steel costs in the past couple of years has put a big hurt on some component suppliers. Topy, a manufacturer of wheels, has decided to take GM to court over the issue as it seeks some contractual relief. This is one of those classic situations whether neither party can afford to budge from its respective position, as GM of course is not in a position to send any more money out the door, and suppliers were stretched thinnly enough before raw material prices jumped through the roof. Expect to see more of this in the next year or so, as many suppliers are simply reaching the end of their ropes.
