BMW quietly updates X3, drops 2.5L

Autoblog reader Alec tipped us that BMW has updated the X3 for 2006 with a few styling tweaks, specifically to the front end. The company has also dropped the 2.5L I6 from the lineup, leaving only the 3.0L that produces 225 hp and 214 lb-ft. or torque. A quick scan of BMW's media site revealed no press release on the 2006 X3 3.0 SAV and Randall was the one who attended the BMW press conference in Frankfurt. He's probably sleeping right now, so we'll check with him later today to see if this is old news or not.
