Passat Coupe expected from VW by 2008

According to Forbes Volkswagen is currently negotiating with its Northern German plant in Emden on "necessary cost optimiszation" measures related to producing a coupe variant of the Passat. German newspaper Bild has done a conceptual rendering of what the car might look like, going so far as to speculate the new Passat might be a four-door coupe like the Mercedes CLS. This would be the second coupe coming out of Wolfsburg in the next few years if reports on a revived Scirocco turn out to be true as well.
