Motor Press Guild conducts PR survey

If this is a popularity contest, it's no surprise that Chrysler communications boss Jason Vines wins. The creative former opener for comic Tim Allen is famous for his vehicle launch ideas, and the fun that is undoubtedly had in his office is enviable.
The Motor Press Guild, a professional organization for journalists and PR professionals, has created a survey that rates automotive manufacturers on their media relations skills. The first survey of its kind conducted for the MPG, the study polled the 400 members of the MPG and 100 other notable non-members to separate the flacks from the fabulous.

Participants in the survey rated the automakers in areas relating to the day-to-day needs of journalists, ranging from immediacy of response to the company's media events. And the winners areā€¦

Chrysler, Nissan/Infiniti and Volvo tied for first, and Ford, Toyota/Lexus and Jaguar coming in second.
