Pay-as-you-go navigation service launched in U.K.

The wonderfully-named company GetMeThere.co.uk is rolling out its TARA service (Traffic Avoidance and Routing Application) for anyone equipped with a mobile phone and a GPS receiver.
The TARA software for your phone is free - users only pay when they use it. Each direction request includes unlimited route updates during the trip. The fee is 1.5 UKP (about $2.70).
