Michigan's not cool enough for Audi, the Detroit Free Press reported this morning. Evidently, the niche carmaker wants to move out of state within five years to a hipper place where both potential buyers and employees are young, trendy and affluent, such as New Jersey, the home state of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, or perhaps Chicago or Atlanta. Living in Michigan, I wonder if they don't have a point… All snobbery aside, Audi does make the point that it is having trouble competing with GM, Ford and DaimlerChrysler for talent.
Because working for an American car company is a really stable thing to do these days.
