Their plan failed and now they are looking to take the brand in a different direction. Timelines show that there is no planned replacement of the X-type for several years, which could indicate that it will be removed from the line up entirely. Talk within Jaguar may indicate their new target is Porsche, a lower volume but highly profitable manufacturer.
