Ford needs to rethink incentives, entry-level models

Ford is offering new incentives on the dismal selling Ranger pick-up and slightly less dismal Focus. Both are seeing sharp declines in sales, and not surprisingly, increases in incentives. Maybe Ford should re-focus (get it) their attention on entry level vehicles. A new Focus is already available in Europe and the Ranger could benefit greatly from a redesign. The Ranger is one of the few remaining small pick-ups out there and that alone should sell a few. A new design would sell a lot more. Then all Ford would need to do is develop a competitor to Scion, Honda Fit, Chevy Aveo to keep up. They have plenty of hot European city cars to choose from.
