Liberal Democrats to tax SUVs to death, in the UK

In England, where they actually have a political party named "Liberal Democrats," here we let the Republicans call our Democrats liberal, the politicians plan to raise taxes on SUVs significantly to basically tax them out of existence on city streets. Hopefully debate follows the logic of one member to allow people to drive what they want. That means give incentives to those driving more efficient cars instead of just hiking SUV taxes. Other politicians point to safety issues with frontal pedestrian impact as a reason to get rid of the "Chelsea tractors."
