Hummer arsonist goes to court

Today a Caltech grad student, William Jensen Cottrell, will find out if the range of counts against him will include one that could net him 35 years or more in federal prison for blowing up a number of Hummer's in Southern California dealership lots. Cottrell has been linked to the poorly named ELF, Earth Liberation Front. Many of the 125 vehicles that had been damaged were spray painted with the letters ELF on them. If Cottrell knew more about cars, instead of committing arson he should've stuck with the paint. That would cost dealers plenty of cash, prevent the sales of the vehicles as new and not get him 35 years in the federal penitentiary. Besides, irrelevant to his actions Americans are already turning against gas guzzlers because of the high price of gas not because they saw some Hummer on fire in California.
