Terminating Pollution

Every time I read a story about Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger passing some budget or bill I just picture my favorite action movies as a kid, like Commando, and those great one liners following some act of violence. Like after impaling a bad guy saying "Stick around." You just don't get classier than that. But now Gov. Schwarzenegger is aiming his sites on polluters. What? A Republican trying to cut down on pollution? That's right, the Governator is trying to pass legislation that would add a fee to annual car registration to help replace aging diesel engines in heavy industry. It might sound like a kickback to the corporations but they're a major contributor to pollution in a state with the most stringent passenger vehicle guidelines. Even environmental groups are praising Schwarzenegger's "aggressive" action.
