Here's another great idea for reducing fuel consumption – wind assist power for automobiles. Kia has announced its own system called the Air Propulsion and Retardation Installation Line. Fitted to the new Kia Soul, the A.P.R.I.L. system uses sensors front and rear to measure wind speed. When the breeze is strong enough, the system deploys large panels from the front and rear bumpers to harness the power of the wind.
