There will be an eighth installment to the Fast and Furious franchise and it's coming on April 14, 2017, according to series star Vin Diesel.
Diesel was speaking to theater owners at Universal Pictures' panel at CinemaCon in Las Vegas when he confirmed the date, Variety reports. It was the same location that Diesel and the late Paul Walker took to in 2013 to announce Furious 7, a movie that is already the seventh highest grossing film of all time, taking in $1.15 billion in worldwide box-office sales.
"We were giddy and excited," Diesel said of the 2013 appearance. "You all gave me so much confidence. There was so much love."
Diesel went on to thank those in attendance for their loyalty. "You helped us create history here."
