2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG – Click above for high-res image gallery

The facelifted 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG wasn't supposed to see the light of day until the Geneva Motor Show this March, but a sizable batch of photos have leaked out giving us a clear look at what to expect in Switzerland.

On the outside, the C63 gets a set of SL-inspired headlamps with ornate light-piping and LED DRLs mounted in the revised fascia. LEDs make their way to the tail lamps, while redesigned 18-inch wheels fill the wheel wells and frame upgraded brakes.

AMG opted to retain the 6.2-liter V8 instead of fitting its new 5.5-liter biturbo mill, so output remains at 451 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. The Development Package will reportedly stick around for 2012, raising output to 481 hp and nixing the 155 mph limiter to allow the C63 to top out at 174 mph. The sports package also includes a few interior tweaks, a carbon fiber trunk spoiler and red calipers that clamp onto 14.2-inch front discs.

However, the biggest change comes in the form of a new transmission. The C63 now sends power to a seven-speed Speedshift MCT auto 'box which swaps out the conventional torque converter for a high-performance clutch pack said to deliver smoother, more immediate shifts.

After the C63's big day in Geneva, the revised C-Class will go on sale this fall, with the AMG-fettled version getting a very slight bump in price.

it looks a little more tame. i miss the hood bulges from the last one.

I love how body-colour mirrors are upgrades on Hondas, but black (OK, CF, close enough) mirrors are only on the top-model C-class.

Also, I thought AMG was moving away from oval exhaust outlets? Good; I didn't like their squared exhaust tips anyway.

It certainly looks better head-on than from the 3/4 profile. At any rate, I'd still drive the h*ll out of it!

I agree with some one you that the older one looks a lot more aggressive, i swear its the openings where the leds are if they had flipped them upside down if would give a much more angry look to it but i guess thats not what they were going for. i'd have preferred if the old one just had this ones grille/. I wish there was a pic of the white one parked so we could see what those black wheels look like.

My first reaction: that looks fantastic, I can't wait to see it in black. And in Black. My second reaction: wait a second, I've seen this before - http://www.qdautos.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/2010-subaru-legacy.gif

This thing deserves the new TT5.5 and a manual six speed.

Mercedes and Porsche are the only car companies making any new car I'd want to buy. This is just absolutely awesome.

Fap fap. Smart move keeping the 6.2, beastly engine.

I've driven all of the AMGs. The C63 AMG is the most fun of all because it is (relatively) light and easy to throw around. With a true AMG performance package with a real HP boost, this thing would be a screamer.

There's a guy nearby who has one of these. The redesign looks great because of the more "s550-ish" interior. Thing is, the c300 is gonna be the volume seller.

Agreed. The first thing I looked for on the picture was if it still said "6.3 AMG" on the side.

Can we also get a leak of the FT86 II if it's alright? I've never been more excited for a car, ever.

On the other hand, this looks much better then the current AMG C-Class. I love the squared off lines - more keeping with Mercedes Tradition.

I like it, but those headlights scream Subaru Legacy.

      Still a fantastic looking vehicle.

      This front is absolutely ugly.
