If you're like us, you've been catching bits and pieces of Top Gear Season 15 on the Interwebs with few complaints. We'll take what we can get, after all, but the world's greatest automotive entertainment show is best watched on a pristine wide-screen television set. Beginning September 27, we won't have to interface our Macs and PCs to check out Clarkson, Mays, Hammond and the Stig, as the show will air uninterrupted on BBC America on September 27. How can you pass up the opportunity to watch Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz (mostly Cameron Diaz) rock a Kia Cee'd on the TG test track in high-definition? The show will run on Mondays at 9 p.m. Eastern time.

With TG hitting BBC America next week, we will soon have two shows to watch this fall containing the words Top Gear. Top Gear USA starts airing on the History Channel in the Fall, with Tanner Foust, Adam Ferrara and Rutledge Wood replacing the UK's big three. Good luck on that assignment, fellas.

I saw a commercial during TG yesterday that said they would be airing the original uncut BBC versions here in the States. Anyone have any info on that?

One of the best shows I have ever stumbled onto. Too bad to get the BBC channel on DISH network it means an upgrade to the more expensive package. Bastigiz!

It's been on BBC Canada for a few weeks now ... I wonder why they don't line them up?

I didn't pay attention during this series, but I know for Series 14, they started airing weekly before the series ended in Britain.

Still, even though it's on BBC-Canada (or USA), it's edited for the commercials so you will always lose out a few bits from the original/torrent version!

From an American point of view, I can imagine they'll cut out part of the seemingly boring news segment or the interviews with "who is that person, again?" or just any random incoherent to us, Americans, piece of British-jargon monologue.

Oh I love this, I cant wait to see the new series

So.. anyone have an idea as to WHY BBC gives us old, edited episodes?

BBC, listen up! We will watch BBC America when you show 1st run full episodes. Until then we will not watch. To sell ads you need share. We're waiting.

I don't get it. BBC USA loses a large number of Top Gear viewers (and ad revenue) to torrents because they insist that they delay showing new episodes here in the US. Why not just show them at the same time as the UK and then they would be no need to hit the torrents for new episodes?

Lammmeeee... I saw the post, and I was instantly hoping for two things.

      1. Top Gear America premiere date
      2. Top Gear Season 16 date

      :(

haha saw the whole episode online couldnt wit for stupid bbc america to air it a few months later (i dont get why they cant air it at the most a days delay after the original airing on bbc america) it issnt like they would lose something in replacing a rerun of kitchen nightmares from 5 years ago with the new episodes of top gear
      • 4 Years Ago
Most American Top Gear fans have watched the episodes online (e.g. bittorrent) long before they are broadcast on BBC America. The only way BBC America will capture all the potential viewers is to broadcast it within 24-hours of the UK broadcast.

        I won't even wait 24 hours...

Ummmm.... might have seen them already.
        Who here can resist waiting?
If you can, try to see it in it's original BBC form. BBC America's version has some clips cut out and the soundtrack is altered as well.
The original BBC version is exactly 1 hour long. There are no commercials on the BBC.

Clarkson once remarked that they dub over some bits to replace boots and petrol with trunks and gas....

^ Yep. It's available in 720p and 1080i as well.

        HD Top Gear > all

By the way, since I pay for BBC Canada, which will be airing the shows anyway, I don't think I'm violating any copyrights.
