Ferrari 599 GTO – Click above for high-res image gallery

A couple of new videos have landed on the tubes dedicated to presenting all the yummy details on the new Ferrari 599 GTO. The only problem – for us, at least – is that both videos are in Italian. That doesn't mean gearheads can't still enjoy the imagery, including in-car video of test driver Raffaele de Simone tapping the carbon fiber flappy paddles. Actually, carbon fiber seems to be the operative material everywhere in GTO's interior.

While we don't speak Italian, we can certainly pick up words like "Formula Uno," "composite" and "aggresiva." Regardless of your mother tongue, it's worth spending a few minutes watching Ferrari's latest creation after the jump before the GTO debuts at the Beijing Motor Show in two week's time.

As an American, and fan of front engine sports cars like the Corvette and Viper, THIS is what a real sports car is in my opinion. Mid and rear engine is nice, but I will take this over a Lambo or Porsche (except Carrera GT) any day.

I love this car, and this version is super cool -

But doesn't it look like just another penis mobile?

it's funny how when someone can't afford something, they automatically make up excuses for it.

make excuces? what does that even mean.........?
.........make excuses for it, like "it" did something wrong..........?
it's a car, why would it need an excuse?

yea, i dunno - front engine v12 two seaters......always just seem a little strange to me.
like the Viper - I guess you can stuff the engine back far enough to get a close to 50/50 weight split, but it's kinda contrived.
still, the resulting shape of these just always seems funny........somehow illogical.

don't get me wrong, this is a damn nice ride -

[I'm assuming by penis mobile you mean a car that men would seem to buy solely for the characteristic of accentuating virility.]

A friend, jokingly, and after I said I really liked some car (forget what), said that it was for guys who wanted to compensate. Silly, yeah, but the idea altogether still irritates me - that some would relate endowment to beautiful cars. Don't you think it's frustrating? (I'm not saying there aren't any guys - or girls - who do it).

        Buzz, buzz.

@lorenzo - Don't knock it until you try it. I've driven a Ferrari 575M in anger; those front engine V-12 Ferraris "feel" much smaller than they look. That car (with the GTC package) felt more like a 911/Ferrari 360 chimera in the bends than a Viper or a Vette. Actually, the Ford GT feels quite similar to the 575M. Anyway, front engine v-12 does not mean that the cars feel non-sporty. They feel every bit the sports car that they are. If you're thinking "GT" when you look at this car, change your mind. It's a hard core track pounding sports car.

I didn't understand a single word of it but I didn't need to, that car is fantastic.

basically, they improved aero by reducing the lateral air flow, the engine is exactly the same as in the XX only with a catalytic converter and a sound muffler, everything inside is coated in graphite and made aerodynamic to reduce friction and drag.

weight is down by making all the glass and body panels 20% thinner, the boot is 40% lighter, the wheels are aluminum alloy and the brakes are smaller despite retaining the same capabilities.

inside, there's a gauge that tells you the temperature of the various components and there's a performance indicator that tells you how much of the car's potential you are actually exploiting.

handling wise, they made the suspension softer on the rear to induce a little bit of oversteer to help move the car's nose in the direction you want it to go.

gearchanges are down from 100 to 60 ms.
