Ferrari 458 Italia – Click above for high-res image gallery

We're gearing up for the release of Transformers 3, even though it won't be hitting the big screen until July 1, 2011. And while the second installment of the Transformers series didn't exactly thrill us with its storyline, there's no arguing that the awesome graphics made for a pretty decent summer blockbuster.

But now, there's a new reason to get excited. At a Ferrari charity event this week, director Micheal Bay confirmed that the sexy, pulse-quickening 458 Italia will join the cast of Autobots. We can't wait to see Ferrari's new stunner put into action, especially along equally appealing co-star, Megan Fox. Hubba hubba. Thanks for the tip, John!

I hope the GM exclusitivity ended with TF2. Let's put other cars in the mix, old and new. It's kind of ruining the spirit of TF by limiting it to one manufacturer. Better yet. bring on the Dinobots!
it's not about the spirit of TF , it's about sponsorship money. VW and Porsche didn't want to have their names in the movie, then Michael Bay made a contract with GM.

Yep not a pretty Ferrari at all.

it's sad that you'd need to get some aftermarket headlamps to make a ferrari look classy.
Please don't use the Ferrari, thats just wrong. To see such a prestigious mark associate itself with such a crappy set of movies is sad. Bond can use an Aston, that works. Iron Man can use an R8, But a Ferrari, a FERRARI! should not have to show up on screen alongside a crappy story line and miserable actors like Megan-boobsalot-Fox.

I, as of now, have completely defected to McLaren; MP4-12C, FTW!

Gosh this car is fugly. Honestly, I believe significant part of ppl who say it is gorgeous are simply blinded by the badge. :(

That yellow track photo is not appealing at all.

The color, the angle, the car's lines... not good.

Not just not good enough for Ferrari, but I wouldn't buy a regular car that looked like that.

        The 430 looked so good...

the 458 is not, and I've said that since the day it was released. The only one that did slightly look good was the fake rendering of a red one with a completely flat black roof, from the window sill line up... and it still had the awkward lower body lines, and those stupid gills inboard of the headlights, and the soft front end.

Mechanically, it seems to be a screamer, and one of Ferrari's best. Too bad it doesn't at all look the part, which is supposed to be inherently involved. Not only fast, but gorgeous. This one isn't gorgeous.

Sink me down with the captain....this "thing" is fugly.

And I won't give Michael Bay a pass until Bumblebee is a Beetle and Jazz is a 911, the way they should be...

At that angle, in that color, I'm going to agree with you. I looks like a Hyundai supercar, if they made one.
I'm gonna agree, this car is a shame compared to the incredible styling of the F430 and F430 scuderia. Not to mention nearly all the other past Fxxx models were gorgeous within first glance. I got to adjust my eyes constantly to see the good points on this car. Styling has gotten too retro for ferrari.

Agreed. Some angles it looks nice, but those headlights are just a crime. They look like something you get off the shelf at AutoZone for your riced out honda.

I would like to be in a ferrari 458...with megan fox. But, if i were to choose between a ferrari 458 and miss megan fox, well, I'll choose megan fox...

Can't wait to hear the cheesy, stereotypical Eye-Talian accent they give it.

I love it. It's one gorgeous piece of yellow hoonery. I like it even more in yellow. It's curves are sooo sexy. It's a beautiful piece of automotive art.

I don't really like how Ferrari is becoming so commercial. I feel like they're selling out.
