It seems that everyone has missed the point here. The Stig is many people. On that day he was Shumi, that's who drove the FXX to that blistering lap. Most days it's Ben Collins, but when the Renault R24 showed up, it was a Renault test driver that drove it. Other cars on loan to the show likely came with their own "Stig" also.

June 22 2009 at 11:28 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIf you're going to slam people for being stupid, you might want to spell "morons" right.
June 23 2009 at 3:13 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYea, hessmo where I watch TopGear. And I hope you guys know that this is a joke. When he took of his helmet he even winked at Clarkson, and even the way he was sitting and his movement didn't look right. And at the end (if you did watch the show) credits said Special Guest: Michael Schumacher. And Ferrari didn't let the real Stig take the Enzo for a lap, so what makes you think that they would allow him to drive the FXX, which Schuey owns.
June 22 2009 at 2:32 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYup, plus the fact that Clarkson said it was a joke at the end, before showing the Leona segment which solidified the fact.
I guess some people just "want to believe" too hard, eh? heh
Thats not the stig. Michael Schumacher own ferrari. Thats theonly way to get the Ferrari FXX on top gear, thats his FXX and no one can drive the car outside of Ferrari. Hence Michael Schumacher. He's not the stig. At the end of the episode Jeremy Clarkson says he doesn't think Schumacher really is the stig (They do know how the stig really is anyway).
June 22 2009 at 11:46 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyRegardless of the Stig's true identity, it was a brilliant moment nonetheless.
June 22 2009 at 10:20 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI wonder how next week's episode is going to go? It really wouldn't surprise me if they unveiled "another" Stig. I'm still not completely convinced it is Schumaker, or any one person for that matter.
Like was mentioned before, I think this is just a big publicity stunt, and a clear plug for Bacardi. Tough economic times, right?http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/17/review-2010-lincoln-mkz-makes-a-name-for-itself-in-middle/
The best part about that clip, is that right after he took his helmet off, there is a woman in the back who has NO clue who he is. She looked completely dumbfounded.
June 22 2009 at 8:34 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI went to TG filming once, it was the same time as there was an F1 race in the USA, and the stig was on the track, and the cheating German was in the USA.
June 22 2009 at 7:55 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Reply"Schumacher's" lap in the Lacetti at the end of the show was hilarious.
June 22 2009 at 7:36 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replythe stig is actually susan boyle in a schumie suit
