Detroit 2009: Dodge Ram R/T Accessorized

Stuck among the largely forgettable production vehicles at the Chrysler, LLC display is this Mopar-enhanced Ram R/T. Originally shown at SEMA, B5 Blue (we think) covers its bodywork, which is very close to the ground thanks to a new set of springs and shocks. Kumho-shod, 22-inch forged wheels are stuffed into the cutouts. In front, the Challenger-style hood rocks a set of SRT stripes, the headlamp housings are blacked out, and a new front bumper with chin spoiler threatens to scrape against any obstacle taller than a praying mantis. Out back, a body-colored bed cover thwarts prying eyes, and a pair of fat polished exhaust tips pokes under the rear bumper. Inside, you'll find color-keyed inserts and R/T embroidery on the seats. Overall, this thing looks pretty mean, especially when its surrounded with your garden variety Dakotas and Durangos.

Looks pretty good if your into racey trucks. The stance is great and the "Challenger" hood looks pretty nice.

Having driven the snot out of a few of the new 09s, I already like the new Ram. But this R/T package looks great.
The 02-05s were great trucks, but the interior design and quality went to pot in 2006. These new ones make up all that ground and more. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I still had a use for a full size truck.

I normally try to post reasonable comments. I make a real effort to be objective and factual, but lowered trucks irk me. I have had two trucks over the years, and I lowered the last one a bit and put on some touring car rubber on it to try to make it less than horrible in the corners and crosswinds. It was futile. And it hurt the approach and departure angles (getting out of steep driveways while loaded). I can't help but feel sorry for everyone driving a lowered truck, like they stumbled into a bad situation. You remove some utility and don't gain much back.
OK. I'm sorry for the rant. Please be gentle with the minus sign.

Seriously though, I judge people who drive lowered vehicles. If you do drive them, you likely don't care what I think and you may be cooler than I am but I still think you are silly.

It does look like the kind of truck that would appeal to a certain spanish speaking segment. Their money is green right?
It also appeals to a trailer living easily separated from their lottery/bingo winnings also.
The teal paint is wonderful.
Also, this is a good use of our bailout money...

this is a sweet truck of course it is upgrated..I ordered an inferno red r/t.
I also ordered kuhmo 22's with liquid metal black and chrome rims and a snug top
with a wing on it.and black stainless nerf bars.
