Go Speed Racer, Go! Video of Mach 5 debut with cast

Reuters' video coverage of the Speed Racer press conference and Mach 5 unveiling in Germany has been posted on the web. It gives us a better introduction to the real-life version of the iconic hero vehicle, including a nice long look inside the cockpit. Once they're done showing the car, however, the conference devolves into the usual Hollywood pap. "I've never been as excited to be a part of a project...blah, blah, blah." Yeah, yeah, we know. Now, spare us the hugfest and and show us Racer X's Shooting Star, already!

I was worried about Christina Ricci as Trixie, but she's certainly not that huge foreheaded little girl I remember!
The car looks freaking awesome too. No if they only bring back Snake Oiler and the Car Acrobatic Team......

If theyr making it a PG movie, it better be borderline PG-13. When i first heard about this a while back, I was expecting something like Dukes of Hazard - mass appeal(also known as suck)- comedy + Wachowski Brothers(Violence, action, and awesomeness).
They better not screw this up trying to make it family friendly.

Hey! Wait! Is BMW underwriting this whole thing? And is the big story going to be how much faster Speed is using iDrive instead of the SW buttons? Damn!
No! Wait! I am sure it will be underwritten by the iPhone and that SW center hub is a touch-sensitive interface with "visual voicemail" among other neat features. oops! wrong blog for that second one.
